Dyeing by Moss
There is a grey moss which grows on trees and rocks which makes a good dye for wool.
- Scrape the full of two sweet cans of moss.
- Put four sweet cans of water into a pot. Allow to boil.
- Put in the moss and allow it to boil for 1 hour.
- Put in articles which are to be coloured. Allow the dye to come to a boil again.
The clothes will then have a rich brown colour.
This industry is carried on now in my home.
